For many years we have been visiting the seal colony at Cape Cross on the coast of Namibia. Seeing these animals in their natural habitat was a highlight for our travelers and others even travel companies. However, we realized an annual seal hunt that takes place at several beaches along the coast of Namibia, including Cape Cross which involves up to 85,000 baby seals being clubbed to death and 6,000 adult males of being shot.
with a growing number of travel companies, we decided with immediate effect that we will not visit the Seal Colony Cape Cross. We hope that the various campaigns to end hunting will change the current situation and that we will again visit the seal colony in the future. Meanwhile, we hope our passengers will understand our reasons for not visiting at that time.
