Each bridge crossing, the tunnel can be discerned, rail ribbon invisible sneaks through your half-dreams, you keep alert, keep you awake. The train slid through the night, devouring the miles, cradling his passengers with a rolling movement. He slowed to climb the hills where she ran down with the gathered momentum. He pulled into the stations where the few adventurous shivering in pools of milky white light awaiting his arrival.
