Regarding Hamburg as a tourist sites, Miniatur Wunderland it had my name written on itI went like a train geek! - I admit now shamelessly as having Hornby model railway as a child - but I came away with absolute certainty that the Miniatur Wunderland is a must, if you are a geek train or not: it is simply amazing
Miniatur Wunderland is built on a large scale, and it is always changing and growing with the enthusiasm and inventiveness of its creators. They built small worlds full of tiny people :. tiny scenes playing with gusto and humorMiniatur Wunderland is located in the warehouse district of Hamburg, in a former brick warehouse, and is laid out over two or three floors. it occurred to me that I had not noticed the trains that much, there was so much to see that the trains were something happens back -plan!
Not that the guys in the "control room" would agree with that! 
Every fifteen minutes (I timed it) darkness falls on the Miniature Wunderland and it becomes night for a few minutes , not sudden darkness :. dusk fade through the rainbow sunset and the day would begin with a colorful dawnIn dark lights come inside buildings, on trains, the exhibition's Park ' lights. In the American section, Las Vegas looks amazing with colorful lights and art deco buildings in Miami come to life in the bright neon

Even on November 1st week end of Wunderland Miniature (Official website) was busy, I advise to avoid the weekend, I think. It cost me 12 € (2014) to get in and it was worth every euro.
You should really be interested in trains or model railways to enjoy the Miniatur Wonderland, it is a magical world that will entertain and wow you and awaken your inner child I spent two nights in Hamburg en route to Copenhagen from Amsterdam by train
